A good friend recommended Steve Garrett, as they were really impressed with 2 extensions he completed. I called Steve about some building work and fitting a new kitchen and he returned my call the same day, quickly followed by a visit to take a look at the job. He gave us lots of ideas that we hadn’t considered and helped us make the best use of the space. I had a lot of questions, and Steve was really helpful and guided us through the process of taking down a wall and fitting a new kitchen. Once the work started, Steve and his team were always on time, very friendly and helpful and progressed with the job in excellent time. Steve’s standard of work is very high. I love my new kitchen! Steve kept us up to date of the progress, provided valuable advice and was happy to answer any questions along the way. We have used Garrett Builders on two separate occasions for building work. Firstly in 2001 to build a large single storey extension that required a lot of digging out for the foundations. Garrett Builders provided a very competitive quote against others and built the extension with minimal disruption and to a high standard. Throughout the build Steve was professional, honest and reliable. In 2014 we used Garrett Builders once more to build another single storey extension on a different property. Again Steve carried out a fantastic build providing helpful advice throughout and remaining honest. His work is of a high standard and he always cleaned up when he had finished for the day. He made sure we were aware of how the build was going and what to expect next. Throughout the entire experience, he supported us making sure that our needs were met with minimal inconvenience to both us and our neighbours. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anybody.

Steve is a friendly, professional builder who commits to a very high standard of work. He consulted with us on a daily basis about the progress, what was next and what to expect etc. He always offered choices and experience based advice, so we still felt ‘in control’ of the project.

Our project involved him accessing our neighbour’s property & erecting scaffolding on it. Prior to starting the project, Steve introduced himself to them and gave them details of what would happen and listened to concerns and questions.

Steve ensured wherever possible we got what we wanted ie; a change of internal wall to make better use of the limited space & own choice of sanitary ware etc.

It was a relief to have someone who was approachable, friendly and reassuring when undertaking a new and daunting venture. We felt we were able to talk to Steve about any concerns or questions prior to, throughout and even after, the build – he was very patient and understanding.
